Holodomor Commemoration

On November 24th, 2015, the uOttawa USC hosted a Holodomor Commemoration with movie screening at the Alumni Auditorium at the University of Ottawa. The Holodomor was a brutal genocide of 1932-33 in Ukraine that took millions of lives by famine.

We were honoured to have Marko Shevchenko, chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, and James Bezan, MP for Selkirk-Interlake, speak at the event, and would like to thank all who attended for joining us to remember the millions of lives lost in the Holodomor. Also, thank you to the Carleton Ukrainians for providing refreshments and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Ottawa Branch for sponsoring the event.
